Owls midfielder Giles Coke is set for a period on the sidelines with an Achilles injury.
Coke missed Saturday’s clash with Huddersfield and the 28-year-old faces a spell of around three weeks out of action.
Head coach Stuart Gray said: “I think Giles is going to be wearing a medical boot for three weeks now which is disappointing for him and us.
“We have had to monitor his fitness in training.
“It wasn’t getting any better. If anything, it was getting slightly worse. With an Achilles tendon, you have to be very, very careful.
Coke has featured 16 times for Wednesday this season and will miss Wednesday’s clash with Wigan on Saturday.
