Everton and Scotland striker Steven Naismith has given Owls hitman Stevie May a boost ahead of this weekend’s Euro 2016 action.

The Premier League ace, who scored for the Toffees against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, has given May a glowing review for his performances in training since linking up with the senior Scotland squad.

Naismith has scored four Premier League goals in seven appearances for Everton this term.

Of May, he said: “People are still debating whether or not Stevie is good enough but what he has shown this week has been brilliant.

"He’s someone I have been really impressed with.

“It might come too quickly for him to get in this one but he will be competing for places soon enough.”

Scotland face Georgia at Ibrox on Saturday (5.00pm).
