A Sheffield Primary School have been crowned the winners of the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme’s football tournament.

Intake Primary School scooped the top spot after taking part in the club’s Community Programme’s competition at the training ground on Middlewood Road.

The competition saw Intake Primary School beat off competition from 18 local schools.

Steve Taylor, Community Officer at the club, said: “Intake performed really well in the competition and they were a credit to the school. All the boys involved in the team did really well and should be proud of their achievement.”

After winning, the Primary School went on to represent Sheffield Wednesday in the regional finals of the Football League Kids Cup. Unfortunately the school lost out on penalties in the semi-finals stage of the competition.

Well done to all involved!
