Sheffield Wednesday host half-term coaching

The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme are on the scout for future Owls stars aged five – 14 to attend their October half-term soccer camps.

The Soccer Camps, which are based at Sheffield Wednesday’s training ground on Middlewood Road and also run at Retford Oaks High School, run throughout the school holidays and aim to develop play of the young footballers.

The camps, which are ran by fully qualified coaches, work to develop skills, technique and standard of play.



Steve Taylor, Community Development Officer at Sheffield Wednesday, said: “Soccer Camps are a great way for young people to develop their skills in a professional environment and for many it’s the first taste of football coaching,”

The camps also give the young players a chance to progress on to the development centre, an opportunity to win prizes and also enjoy an appearance from the Sheffield Wednesday mascot!

Steve added: “It’s a good start if you want your child to get involved in football as it introduces drills at a good level for all abilities. We’re looking forward to welcoming the next lot of aspiring footballers during half-term!”

Half-term camps run from Monday 27 October – Friday 31 October, from 9:00am – 4:00pm, priced at £45 for the week or £15 for one day. The programme are also running a special ‘Freaky Friday’ fancy dress competition on the last day which will see the best dressed win a prize!
