Owls winger impresses head coach
Modou Sougou was the surprise package during the midweek cup clash with Mansfield, according to Carlos Carvalhal.The winger scored on his debut against the Stags and could well feature for the first time in the Championship on Saturday at Portman Road.
The Owls head coach said: “His performance was the big surprise of the last match. He tired a little in the last ten minutes but he gave an amazing performance.
“I didn’t expect too much from Modou against Mansfield as he hadn’t played any friendly matches. He did pre-season at Marseille but played no friendly matches so those were the minutes he has got this season.
“I know the player very well and what qualities he can bring to the team. It was a big surprise how he played and he will only get better. He is ready to help the team.”
