WAWAW stories a success!

9 September 2014

  • WAWAW programme feature a hit with fans
  • Season Ticket holders stories profiled
  • Bumper matchday programme great value

A brand new matchday programme feature that celebrates Sheffield Wednesday fans has been a huge success since its inception in July 2014.

The feature, WAWAW, is within season’s bumper 84-page programme and profiles one Season Ticket holder per game, focusing on their passion for and dedication to the Owls.

So far, WAWAW has met with five Season Ticket holders who all have had their own individual stories to tell.

The feature comes as the programme has enjoyed a complete redesign and overhaul, becoming more interactive with fans and offering more content than ever before by upping its page count – but not the price!

Lifelong Wednesdayites, Dorothy and Fred Walford, who were Season Ticket holders for more than 70 years, were profiled in the Notts County programme. Their story was done as a surprise too so it was an even bigger success when they opened the programme to see their faces inside!

Another story found that Season Ticket holders Laura and Rob, who sit in the South Stand, were bought together thanks to their shared love for Wednesday. They met just by attending games and 18 months after first meeting moved in together and soon after their baby Owl, Charlie James Kay was born!

A fantastic story on how Sheffield Wednesday bought a whole new family together!

As well as adding something different to the programme, the feature is a great way to celebrate the commitment of Wednesdayites.

Every programme includes the WAWAW feature and we’d love to hear from you if you have a unique story to tell! Get in touch by e-mailing: mediaenquiries@swfc.co.uk
