We want that momentum

6 May 2016

With just one defeat in ten, a play-off spot secured and a feelgood factor in S6, midfield man Barry Bannan wants that form to continue.

The Owls have one final hurdle to come this weekend before their play-off semi final first leg at Hillsborough next week.

As Wednesday prepare for their final game of the regular season at Wolves, Bannan believes it is important that the club head into the play-offs with momentum and explained:

“Everybody is looking forward to the play-offs but we have got a big game on Saturday and we want to keep the momentum going heading into those games.

“We had a little celebration at the weekend when we got into the play-offs but all this week we’re focused on Wolves.”

Three of the four teams that will compete in the play-offs have been confirmed.

Middlesbrough or Brighton will make up the quartet that will do battle for the biggest prize in football later this month and Bannan says Wednesday will be full of confidence.

“It will be four top, top teams and it could be anyone who will go up,” he said.

“But I’ve said all along, we know what we have got in our changing room and we have got as good a chance as anyone.

“It’s going to be tough but it’s going to be tough for the other three teams as well.

“I said after the Cardiff game, it’s the best we have started all season. We came out firing and played probably our best football and best pressing game all season.”
