Jones reviews Reading win

“They have worked their socks off on this tour of Portugal and they can all be pleased with themselves.”

“I’m really pleased with the players but then I have been pleased with them from the first day they walked back into training.

“We know we have a long way to go but there were plenty of good things out there tonight. If we had taken three points from a game like that I’d have been even more delighted!

“It was just as hard as the Sporting Lisbon game and we worked just as hard as we did in the Sporting game.

The manager said: “It was a good workout against a very strong side. It was all about fitness levels and what we are trying to do in our movement patterns and it came off.

And Jones told that another building block is in place as preparations accelerate for the new campaign.

Goals from Mike Jones and Chris O’Grady ensured the Owls took the honours at the Municipal Stadium in Portugal.

Dave Jones was delighted with his players following the 2-0 friendly win over newly-promoted Championship side Reading.
