Owls held by Reds

27 October 2012

The Sheffield Wednesday Under-18s shared the spoils with Barnsley on Saturday, drawing 2-2.

The Owls went in at half time two goals to the good with strikes from Brad Tomlinson and Simon Hannah.

But the home side came back after the break to level the score and earn a point in the local derby.

On the game, Under-18 coach Max Wragg said: “We were excellent in the first half. We pressed them high up the pitch, created a lot of chances and deserved our two-goal lead.

“I thought we started off the second half well but Barnsley managed to get back in the game and a few costly errors on our part allowed them a route back.

“There were many positives to take away and things to work on for our next game which is Birmingham.”
