Focused on the Foxes

2 December 2013

Stuart Gray says the Owls are fully focussed and will be positively prepared for the visit of high-flying Leicester to Hillsborough on Tuesday.

Wednesday’s first team coach has stepped into the breach following the departure of Dave Jones and will remain in the hot seat until a permanent appointment is made.

First on the agenda is the home game with the Foxes and Gray has underlined his commitment to collect a maximum haul.

He said: “I was delighted to be asked by the chairman to step in and I am fully committed to try and get us that win against Leicester.

“Obviously, I am disappointed with what has happened with the manager and Paul Wilkinson, but I’ve been in the game long enough to know that these things happen.

“I’ve had a meeting with the players today just to explain that we can’t control what’s happening off the pitch, the only thing we can control is on the pitch.

“Training this morning was upbeat and positive and we are focused on organising the team for tomorrow night’s game.

“The pleasing thing is that we have a game straight away after Saturday and I know the boys will be at it and looking for a good performance.

Gray has also confirmed that Under-21 coach Lee Bullen will be in the dugout on Tuesday night as the Owls seek to halt a run of three straight defeats.

He added: “Lee will be helping out and I am grateful for his assistance. He has great experience and that can only be a positive thing.

“We will be completely prepared, the game is on our patch and everyone at the club knows how important the support of the fans will be for us on Tuesday.

“The team have to give the supporters something to shout about and with our energy and enthusiasm, hopefully we can do that and get a good result.”
