The Owls emerged from the capital with an impressive 2-0 win over Millwall last Saturday.

The travelling triumph was Wednesday’s fourth win from their first seven fixtures of the new campaign.

And they were good value for the win too as the visitors sought to build on their excellent performance against Brentford the previous weekend.

Wednesday started well, looking a threat going forward, and deservedly took the lead through Warren Clarke on 15 minutes.

Millwall stirred and only resolute defending kept the hosts at bay. The pattern continued after the break and the Owls’ determination was rewarded when an own goal doubled the lead.

That second goal deflated the Lions and Wednesday were worthy winners.

Coach Max Wragg said: “Overall it was a very solid performance defensively, while we got the two goals to win the game.

“That’s two wins on the bounce now and winning breeds confidence.”

The Under-18s are next in action against Colchester this Saturday against Colchester at Middlewood Road (11.00am).
