Brown urges Owls ruthless streak

29 October 2021

Jaden Brown has urged Wednesday to find a ruthless streak in the coming games to turn the run of draws into wins and climb the table.

Our fixture schedule over the next month is hectic and Brown recognises the potential to rise in the League One standings with a string of positives results.

The Owls make the trip south to Cheltenham on Saturday aiming to end a run of three successive draws by posting a victory in Gloucestershire.

Brown said on Friday morning during our pre-match press conference: “We have had a few conversations as a team to be more ruthless.

“We have taken the lead and we have to keep a lead in those situations. We must be more ruthless as a team. I feel we have got the ability to kill teams off.

“With a good run of games, we can shoot up the table and the conversations will then be very different. It's how football is but the next few games are very important for us.”

The 22-year-old has made 10 appearances in all competitions so far this season and, while pleased overall with his start, believes there is plenty more to come with time.

He continued: “I think I can improve offensively and defensively - I do a lot of work behind the scenes. I won’t say what exactly I need to do, but I’m honest with myself and I know it.

“We have got a good dressing room, we trust each other as players and we know what people can do.

“Every team that plays against us will give 100 per cent and it is of course important we match that every time and have the fans right behind us.

“We have got a big fan base and it’s very important we stick together as a club.”
