Home comforts

Wednesday face Wimbledon on Saturday, returning to Hillsborough, our home that has become somewhat of a fortress under Darren Moore this campaign.

Heading into the final month of the league season, the Owls have accrued more points at home than any side in England’s top four tiers, an impressive 44.

Wednesday also boast the most league goals throughout March, a month that included resounding wins of 5-2, 6-0 and 4-1 against Burton, Cambridge and Cheltenham respectively.

Speaking on the Owls’ home form, Moore said: “Since the fans have returned, they have given their energy to the players to build relationship values.

“The players have responded and we go into Saturday with the most productive home record in all four divisions.

“That is something we can all be proud of and something we have achieved together. It’s credit to everyone involved who can share in feeling that pride.

“But do we stop there, should we be satisfied? No. Because we can all get better through hard work and consistency and continuing the good things that have put us in this position.”

With just three games remaining at Hillsborough, the Owls will be hoping to continue our home form, having lost just two league games in S6 this season.
